The Ministry of Education and schools are not required to provide any form of help to parents of children educated at home teacher guides, worksheets, consultation, etc.

The Croatian Constitution, [43] in the Article 63 paragraph 1, states that parents have a duty to school their children. Similarly, in the Article 65 paragraph 1, it states that primary schooling is compulsory and free.

It is deeply ingrained in Croatian culture that education cannot happen without schooling. As of July there are three alternative primary schools in Croatia — one Montessori [44] and two Steiner Waldorf schools.

Mandatory school attendance has been in place since Parents violating the laws have primarily or most prominently been Christians seeking a more religious education than that offered by the schools.

In a legal case commenced in at the European Court of Human Rights , a homeschooling parent couple argued on behalf of their children that Germany's compulsory school attendance endangered their children's religious upbringing, promoted teaching inconsistent with their Christian faith—-especially the German State's mandates relating to sex education in the schools—and contravened the declaration in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union that "the State shall respect the right of parents to ensure education and teaching is in conformity with their own religious and philosophical convictions".

In September , the European Court of Human Rights upheld the German ban on homeschooling, stating "parents may not refuse The European Court took the position that the plaintiffs were the children, not their parents, and declared "children are unable to foresee the consequences of their parents' decision for home education because of their young age Schools represent society, and it is in the children's interest to become part of that society.

The parents' right to educate does not go as far as to deprive their children of that experience. The European Court endorsed a "carefully reasoned" decision of the German court concerning "the general interest of society to avoid the emergence of parallel societies based on separate philosophical convictions and the importance of integrating minorities into society.

In January , a United States immigration judge granted asylum to a German homeschooling family, apparently based on this ban on homeschooling.

According to Slovenian Ministry of Education it was based on Danish model of home education. The compulsory school-age starts at 6 and lasts for 9 years [87] Page 18 Article The child being home educated is required to enroll into a local school public or private and pass annual exam in certain subjects mother tongue and math only in lower grades; with addition of foreign language in middle grades and more subjects in higher grades, [87] [88] Page 22 Article Every year the parents have to notify the school before starting [89] new school year that they will be home educating their child.

However homeschooling is restricted only to the first four years of primary education. In Spain homeschooling is in somewhat of a legal vacuum.

On the one hand in Article 27 the Spanish Constitution talks of compulsive education not schooling , the freedom of teaching and the right of parents to choose their children's education in accordance with their own personal, moral and religious convictions.

In a family went in front of the Spanish Constitutional Court to argue that the Spanish education laws are not in accordance with the parental rights granted by the Constitution and are therefore unlawful.

The decision made by the Constitutional Court made it clear that current education laws were in fact lawful interpretations of the Constitution with the result that since effectively school attendance is considered mandatory in Spain for all children from 6 to In the regional government of Catalonia amended its education law so that now according to article 55 "education without attendance to school" is a viable option.

As a regional law it can't contradict the education law passed by the national parliament. Hence the newly amended Catalan law can only refer to pupils who have special needs or are for some other reason unable attend school regularly in order that they may have their educational rights met.

In Sweden, children are obligated to attend school from the age of 6 [95]. In Sweden passed a law SFS Homeschooling is only allowed for certain specific reasons such as for children of parents working temporarily in the country.

Homeschooling will not be approved based on religious beliefs or philosophical reasons, nor is there an automatic approval if the parent has had teacher training.

Your welcome email will arrive in your inbox soon. Andorra la Vella such a small mountain town located about mt altitude over the sea, with plenty of nice and cozy bars, pubs and restaurants where you can get a taste of most tipical foods.

Just 10 minutes drive to the beautiful ski resort of Baqueira-Beret. Deserves a small visit. I traveled in my return jorney to Barcelona coming from France and decided to stop for shopping in Andorra based on feedback that is tax free city.

I reliazed that prices are not cheaper depsite they claimed as tax free. Moreover not much marchendis brands can be found in the city.

Food at restaurants is terrible, except Hard Rock Cafe which was relatively better in town. The views are stunning and the small town centre is easy to navigate.

Signage is pretty good and there are lots of things to see and do in the great outdoors. Parking is a bit of a pest, and an expensive one at that.

Not all hotels offer parking so good to check if they do you will have to pay but parking at hotel beats dragging luggage from some distance away.

Not all accomodation has airconditioning. If you are there in summer- this is an issue- so if this is what you need- check what your accomodation offers don't assume that there is aircon.!

We moved hotels because of lack of aircon or even fans to move the air and in august it is hot. Smoking is the norm- and a table lighting up next to you while you are still eating is not uncommon so this may influence where you eat.

Not all hotels are strict about non- smoking so you may be offered a room that smells of smoke. Basically you will need to check everything with your accomodation provider.

Andorra is a long series of cities and towns, filled with modern high rise buildings in a deep, steep valley. Andorra la Vella is the shopping hub.

Traffic is heavy because of the narrow valley and crowds or locals and tourists. The setting is spectacular. If I go there again, it will be only for the hiking and I'd stay in one of the towns high up on the mountain between Andorra and France.

Andorra as a country is beautiful. We drove in from France brought Pas del la Casa. The mountain pass offered incredible views. Definitely recommend stopping to shop at the summit.

There is much more variety in the the shops than what you will find in the capital city. We chose to drive the mountain pass rather than the tunnels.

We're rewarded by incredible vistas. Andorra was one of the highlights of our drive around the Catalonia countryside. The staff was amazing, so very helpful and accommodating.

The location was superb, up the mountain with the most amazing view and walks. Only a 15 minute drive into town where there is plenty of paid parking.

But there is also a minibus service from the hotel throughout the day. We had the best BBQ steak for dinner and a beautiful salad. Breakfast was great with eggs and croissants.

It's a family run business and the owners made our stay a definite 10 out of 10! The hospitality of the stuff was more than expected; everything else was according to description and guests reviews: The room was an ample size and it was lovely that the children had their own room within the hotel room itself.

The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We only stayed one night but would certainly come back again.

Highly recommend this hotel. We got a last minute deal so it was good value for money sleeping in a spacious suite with all the facilities of a five star hotel.

Huge bed, fancy shower, nice living room, enjoyed very much the dry sauna. Very nice receptionist gave us some nice advice about activities.

The hotel is very close to the center - several minutes to all key places 2. A very good spa and fitness center in the hotel!

Swimming pool, 2 jacuzzi, 1 pool with waterfall, sauna and Hamam. And all that with panoramic view at mountains.

In the morning there were very few people in it. It is situated near the city centre and we could park our motorbikes save in a private gsrafe under the hotel.

There is a spa and swimmingpool inside which is very nice. The rooms were big and there was much choice for breakfast. We had really good experience at hotel plaza andorra , staffs are so friendly and helpful, breakfast was so delicious, bed was so comfortable and our dog have space enough to walk around , and shopping zone so close to the hotel.

The hotel is worth it! It was nice and near the historic center of Andorra la Vella. The staff were nice and the restaurant was delicious and not that expansive.
